The explosion from a respawn anchor is bigger than TNT and may cause player death. Being careful not to place one, could save hours of grinding and enchanted materials.

What materials do I need to make a respawn anchor in Minecraft

The materials needed to make a respawn anchor can be found both in the nether or through trading with the villagers.

As before mentioned, you can also find broken nether portals, which will have any of the desired materials.

One of the materials required for the respawn anchor is crying obsidian. To break crying obsidian we will need a diamond or netherite pickaxe. When a player doesn’t have a diamond pickaxe still, the best way would be through bartering with piglins.

They may drop material for crafting or the respawn anchor itself.

The next material for making a respawn anchor is glowstone. It is one of the easiest materials to get from the nether and can be broken with a hand or pickaxe.

To be precise for the number of materials required, we will be needing 6 crying obsidian and 3 glowstone. With these materials, we can make 1 glowstone, which would be good for starters.

Respawn anchors need all 9 boxes to be used. So the first thing will be to put the crying obsidian in the 1st and 3rd horizontal lines.

In the middle row, you will need to place the glowstone. If you have glowstone dust from mining, it can easily be turned into glowstone by filling slots.

How to use a respawn anchor in Minecraft

To use the respawn anchors in Minecraft access to the nether is a must. Once we enter the nether we can simply place the respawn anchors anywhere.

Whenever we die we will be respawned on top of the respawn anchor and it will lose 1 charge.

The glowstone that was mentioned above can be used for powering it and helping with the charges. Every time you run out of charges, you will need to add glowstone, so your respawn anchor can be recharged.

When you are out of charge, the respawn anchor will not work anymore.

Can I stack respawn anchors in Minecraft

You can stack up to 64 respawn anchors per slot and the number cannot be changed, except if you are using a plugin or mod for this.

Keep in mind that only one respawn anchor needs to be placed in the nether.

Otherwise, there is a risk of overlapping and your spawn point may not be correct when respawning.
