What is a bed in Minecraft
A bed in Minecraft is a block, which is 2 blocks long and only 1 block wide. The one and only function of the bed is to let players rest when there is a thunderstorm or it simply became night.
Once it is night in Minecraft, mobs start spawning, which may put your character in danger. And as we all know you cannot overcome the mobs if you are still a newbie.
The only way to survive and save yourself is by crafting a bed and right-clicking on it, so you can go to sleep.
Once you right-click a bed at night, you will see your character laying down and staying calm until the night passes.
Once the night has passed your character will directly be spawned next to the bed, but will not be able to lay down again, except there is a disaster.
Note that once your character has laid down, there are no special effects, such as closing your eyes or sounds like snoring.
Where can I find a bed Minecraft
You can’t find a bed in Minecraft. Beds are craftables, which can be crafted by acquiring certain materials.
There is a certain way to find a bed, but you need to find a village. If you stumble upon a village in Minecraft you will see that villagers also use beds.
They also go to sleep at night and become active in the morning.
You can easily break and take their beds, but you should be on the lookout for Iron Golems. They can attack if they see you interrupting the villager’s peace.
What materials do I need to craft a bed in Minecraft
In order to craft a bed, you will need the most basic materials in the game. First of all, you will need planks.
Planks come from chopping woods and using wood to craft them. If you want to chop wood faster, you will have to use an axe.
The next material is wool. You will find all kinds of wool, or you can simply color the wool, by using dyes.
But to get wool, you will need shears and sheep.
Getting the sheep in your own farm place with fences is a good thing. All you need to use is wheat to lure them into your trap.
Since you have sheep trapped, you can simply use the shears and right-click on any sheep. It will drop its wool and leave the sheep naked.
You will need 3 wool from them, so if you do not have enough sheep, you may wait a moment, until they grow their fur back.
If you don’t want to deal with luring sheep into a trap, you can just use the shears or even kill them.
Killing a sheep will again give you wool, but having a farm of sheep can help you get unlimited wool.
How to craft a bed in Minecraft
Once you have gathered the planks and wool, all you need to do is to right-click your crafting table and fill the first line with wool and the other one with planks.
Once you have done this combination a bed should appear, ready to be taken.
Per combination, you will always get 1 bed and this cannot be changed.
What can you do with a bed in Minecraft
Beds are only used for players to sleep at night or when there is a disaster happening. Currently, there is no other way to use them, except if you have your own creative ideas or use Minecraft plugins.
If you are not a fan of the classic red bed, there is one more thing you can actually do. You can color your bed.
By using a different kind of wool while crafting, your bed will take that color and you will have a better one.
Currently there are 16 different types of bed colors, from which you can choose the one you like and gather that wool color from sheep.
Can you stack beds in Minecraft?
Beds in Minecraft cannot be stacked. In the current update, you can have only 1 bed per slot.
The only way to change this is to use addons, mods, or plugins.
Some Minecraft servers may have the stackability manipulated, but if you play on a vanilla server, or in your own single-player world you will see that beds cannot be stacked.
