Getting honeycomb is easy in Minecraft, however, you will need to follow a certain amount of steps, so you can protect yourself from dying. Bees may not seem like the most frightening mobs in-game, but they can still deal a massive amount of damage.

Finding a bee nest

The first you will need to do is locate a bee nest, which is commonly generated in the overworld. They are usually spawned on oak or birch trees, with the highest percentage chance from Sunflower Plains, Flower forests, and other plains.

Finding a bee nest may seem really hard, because their spawning chance is only 5 percent, and losing the location can be the worst thing.

Make sure you have prepared yourself with some useful materials, such as food to prevent hunger, a campfire, sheers, and some resources for crafting.

Using shears to get honey in Minecraft

Sheers are the essential material for gathering honeycombs from bees. Without them, you will not be able to get honey. If you simply right-click on a beehive, the honeycomb will pop out, ready to be collected.

Using honeycomb for transferring bees

Transferring bees can sound like a hard task if you want them to be in your home or next to it. The best way to achieve this is by holding a nice flower, and some leashes.

Once you put the flower in your off-hand, bees will start coming out and can be leashed. They will continuously follow your direction, until you stop showing the flower, or place it on the ground.

With the honeycomb you have gathered, craft a beehive, and close the area, so the bees can have a new home. Place the flower on the ground, and they will eventually enter love mode. After the love mode finishes, a baby bee will be spawned, and it will go back to the beehive, which you have crafted.
